Drawing. I love it. It has grown on me over the past three years. Now I can’t think of a life without drawing. If I find a piece of paper and a pen, think about something, before you know it I am drawing. Sometimes I decide to draw, to sketch, to make sketches for a painting, to draw just for practice. Some I actually start out to make a drawing, some are the result of playing with the medium. I like drawing in pen, pencil, graphite, conté crayon, pastel and (paint) markers. Drawing lessons with Carla Sonheim really got me started on this path, especially since 2013, when I was part of the Year of the Giraffe, a year long online creativity experiment.

In 2014 I joined a group of artists in a challenge to make 101 art pieces in 101 days. I just started with making a lot of drawings. In the end I extended the period and changed it into a challenge of making 101 birds in 101 days. The target reached on December 9th 2014 I celebrated it by making a set of 9 Artist Trading Cards on the ending of 101 birds Challenge. And then another set of 10.
An example of more recent drawings. These were made in response to a prompt in Year of the Spark, an online course to keep art fun, hosted by Carla Sonheim and Lynn Whipple:
