My drawing and painting life

Some blurry faces

I’ve been struggling a bit with the question when or how to begin blogging again.  It’s probably best to just begin again. No plan. So today I’m just sharing some recent drawings. We’ll see where it leads. By the way, perhaps I should call them ‘erasings’ rather than drawings, because the best part of this kind of drawing is that you do most of the work by erasing. Make a blob and erase the high lights, that’s the easy description. Of course there’s more to it, but that’s the idea.

Pan pastel and eraser drawings

These two are in my sketchbook that goes with the #365 course by Carla and Steve Sonheim. I’d been meaning to do more of these eraser drawings, but it took the assignment on the course for me to really do a few. I first learned in an earlier drawing course from Carla, and thought it is an awesome way to produce a semblance of a face.

It doesn’t always work, some turn out weird. As you can see when I show you the full page. The bottom  two are less successful.

Blurry faces, the full page for day 95 in my sketchbook.

See you soon!

The bottom two aren’t bad. They are just different. I like how the bottom right one looks like he has a goatee.

Less successful maybe, but I see personality there still. Yeah, just start blogging. You have been missed 🙂 Have fun!
