My drawing and painting life
A quick post to show a drawing I did the other day. The background was made using a technique Carla Sonheim shared in #365videoclass, using glue stick on the page and then watercolor on top to create a background. I drew on that background trying out a few watersoluble crayons I found in the corridor of the studio (Neocolor 2, 5 grey tones) and some Derwent Inktense pencils.
The glue resists the watercolor, that’s one element of surprise. On some places it’s so thick it resists drawing as well. And then, putting the pencil on top of the crayons isn’t always perfect either. So – not so easy to get perfect – and that’s why it’s a perfect start of a freeing drawing session. I’m happy.
While drawing I thought of some other artists drawing and painting faces I was inspired by that day. Thanks Iris Fritschi-Cussens, Jane Davenport, Tamara Laporte and Wyanne Thompson.
