My drawing and painting life
A quick look at my art table today. I’m trying different papers in an encaustic painting- inspired by Stephanie Hargraves lessons, of course.
At the beginning of the course I was just going for the experiment – and went on until I went too far. I’m getting a bit more deliberate. This time I tried a similar set of papers on two similar but different backgrounds (one clear medium, the other on white wax paint).
And then I added some semi-transparent paints. I had an orange mixed from an earlier session (see top). And a store bought red (see bottom).
There’s book paper, music paper, a thin paper with plant material in it, printer paper (with watercolor on it), a thin pink paper and deep red kraftpaper. That is at the bottom, totally covered up by now.
Having fun and learning a lot. Even though the body is still hurting some time (I walked too much last weekend – now my knee is sore again – ouch!), at least this was a good art day! To make it even better, we are going to a concert too.
