My drawing and painting life

On my art table

Square is my go to shape right now. Also I’ve been thinking about faces….. I think I’ve mentioned that I was over-committed this year on art classes. I could have barely fitted all of it in – if I’d been fit. Given what life has thrown at me, there’s a lot to catch up on. So I download lessons from time to time – thinking I will get to them later.

So I’m downloading lessons from Life Book 2016 and listening to some of the intros.  Doing the same for Fairy Tale Summer and the Ever After fairy tale and style development class. I need to sit there at the computer to keep track. Can’t just sit, so I’ve started some paintings, two with faces. As the mind is on faces – a usual subject in the Life Book lessons in the past and also in the fairy tale lessons of Ever After – I’m playing on my square paintings and it’s faces that come out.

I rather like the simplicity of the second face. I was listening to someone talking about living with intent, about her studio (think, girl, who was it?). I wrote the word Intent in copper paint in this square. The letters are still visible. Work in progress, or not?

Interesting the way it is… but only you know what it might become 😉
