My drawing and painting life
Early August at the start of my holiday I did what I have done over the past few years when on holiday. I paint imaginary animals following a method I learned from Carla Sonheim. For this I always carry some kind of watercolor set, even a small one will be enough to start. I make random blobs of paint and then hunt for the imaginary animal. In January this technique gave me quite a set of paintings and some rather weird ones too. This time I painted birds, imaginary birds but so close to known birds, they are almost real. I was on the coast, so perhaps that’s why there’s lots of water.
As we are approaching the end of my year of daily creating, I feel I need to get back to posting. Not much time though. So I skipped posting about the final 10 days of July (too complicated) and start by catching up on August pieces. For now.
