My drawing and painting life

Sketching on the beach

Just back from holidays in Bretagne, France. Still busy doing the holiday laundry. I am happy to tell you I did daily art there too!

Guidel Plages on a windy day – looking at a small class of surfers. One of the parents is looking on as well.

I sketched and painted on the spot. As always I brought my drawing kit to the beach. Sketchbook, one or two pens and pencils. This time also a small watercolor set.

Given that ‘urban sketching’ is supposed to be ‘sketching what we see where we are’ (=my recollection from what I heard about it), this might be called an urban sketch, but that sounds a bit funny doesn’t it? Then this post might as well have been called ‘urban sketching on the beach’. 🙂

I did several more sketches on the beach. And silly birds. And more. Will share soon.
