Imaginary Creatures revisited

Occasionally I like to go back to the series of Imaginary Creatures I made in January.

May 8  through 10 (#251 – #253) I worked on a few new ones. Here’s Hare dude … he’s a bit of character was the first thing I thought, when I finished the painting. When I looked at him yesterday, I suddenly saw him as the cool guy, going out at night, having fun and then being a bit tired in the morning. Here he is, tired but attentive. I can see him visiting family during the weekend, a birthday party perhaps. Being a kind guy he still likes to play with his little nephews. I can almost picture the toys lying around him on the floor. 🙂

I also started a weird winged creature. I thought it might be fun to make a Pokemon kind of creature. I worked on it on May 9 (#252/365). I got stuck, it’s not finished. I know it may only need tiny bits of tweaking, but I seem to have lost interest for now. (Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Suggestions for a name would be fun too; that might even help me finish it.)

On Sunday May 8 I started these birds too – and finished them May 10 (#253). As you may remember, that was Draw a bird day. See my earlier post: Extra edition for “Draw a bird day” for a progress shot.

Your “hare dude” reminds me a bit of a “trickster”. After reading your thoughts about him staying out a bit late, I could certainly see that, too. 🙂

Wow, thanks for that thought. I read about the “trickster” a long time ago. Thanks for reminding me that there’s a whole world of stories and characters to explore again.

Oh, yes, lots of fun characters in legend and lore. A never-ending source of artistic inspiration. Have fun exploring!

Love Dude and the birds. I am no good with names, but Rupert came to mind. LOL
