My drawing and painting life
Tiny Paintings and Bold Drawings at the end of February
The little paintings above were done in watercolor, on a page of 27 x 35 cm, each approximately 10 x 10 cm. Inspired by a lesson by Martha Lever, from Life Book 2016, who inspired us to do ‘Five minute paintings’. The paintings take 5 minutes each, adding some pen perhaps a minute or so more. That was a nice exercise. This had me thinking of springtime. And summer flowers.
Here’s a pic of a set of speed drawings of flowers – cut out and glued together to make up a nice flower arrangement. I had fake flowers lying all around me – to inspire the drawing. Yes. Lesson 1 of Big Bold Blooms – that was so much fun!
Next lesson : preparing our large canvases with a first layer of paint.
