My drawing and painting life

December theme: Dark and light!

Tada. I chose a new theme for the month!

Dark and light

  • This could be about the season, losing the light gradually, and hoping for the returning light.
  • This could be just about working in black and white. And with the returning light I can start splashing colors around again…
  • This could be about characters and their dark and light sides.
  • There’s a lot I could say on all this, but that’s it really.

I am considering using a different medium each day, to keep it interesting if I end up only doing black and white from now on… . I don’t know if that’s even possible. So probably I will end up using a lot of different media and see how far I will come.

OK. I’m off to make my list…

PS Here’s some photos of December 1st. That’s day 92.

I painted after a photo reference.

  • First I practiced ‘getting the measures of the face’ using markers.
  • Then I painted it using Stabilo all pencil (black) and gesso. And for some reason I get warm and cool greys in the picture…..
  • I am including a pic of my table top, everything together.

More soon. Stay tuned.
