My drawing and painting life

Day 30 A face in oil

Redhead in oil

Redhead in oil. On watercolor paper (+gesso). Size appr. 14.8 x 21 cm.

Tuesday night I am following a live painting class. We painted still lives in oil. Day 30 Wednesday I painted my last face for September in oil on a small sheet of gessoed watercolor paper. In one go. What happens when I don’t really mind what’s coming? A long neck and nose – every time. Too much hair. Bed hair? Maybe that’s why she’s frowning….haha. Fun, isn’t it?

Will this be my last face for a while? I don’t think so. I have a few projects to finish and still feel like painting faces. But also I am tired and feel like a little more freedom…

I leave you with some pictures of a lot of faces. That stack of faces really makes me happy. And tomorrow I will share the new theme and some thoughts on how I go on. 😉
