My drawing and painting life
Carla Sonheim has written several lovely books about drawing. She invented this assignment of making a Modigliani style portrait of an adult you know. This summer she organized a free Kids Art Class online, for kids of course, but also for those of us who feel like kids, or want to draw with our kids, or want to draw like kids.
I didn’t get to doing it myself during the summer. But Day 14 of my Year of Daily Creating, Monday September 14th, seemed the right day for it.
It’s such a wonderful clean simplified face. I love this lesson.
Want to know more about the Kids Art Week? Go to Carla Sonheims website, look up the online classes. The class contains six video lessons you can do (as a kid / with your kid) and there is also a Facebook group where people share their work. The group is still active. Check it out!
