Day 11 Goddess Paintings

sep11_goddess face

Goddess #2 Proserpina/ Persephone. Neocolor and acrylic paint. 21 x29,7 cm.

Remember the painting of day 6? It looks like there’s a series in the works. I made several backgrounds some time ago in the same color scheme. On day 6 I started the face on this page too. At first I was just painting the one goddess. After reading about Greek and Roman mythology the idea kind of stuck. So I decided to finish this one. A little less elaborate.

I like to think of her as Proserpina/Persephone, the daughter of Ceres/Demeter.

I may add some symbols to make that clear. But this is how far I came on day 11.

As I said before, I like to work on two or more at the same time. So when the layers need drying I can go on, stay in the same flow.

So here’s  another one I started yesterday. She looks a little more stern.  I am open to suggestions what kind of character or goddess she might be. I am thinking Athena.

What do you think?
