My drawing and painting life

Tough times

From time to time life’s just hard. And from time to time it’s hard to start making something. This week I found out a friend had died quite suddenly. Just last Saturday we were on a hike through his hometown and visited the sites. Monday night I received a phone call that he had died.

I have been a bit shaken this week. And will just share a painting or two I made last week. I was taking an (online) watercolor course about Fall (the season).

Watercolor is new to me, so I thought the assignments were quite hard. But absolutely fun and I will finish the course, though later than I meant to.

One of the assignments was about painting a landscape with trees and reflections in a lake. It’s not completely to my liking, I may try again later.

Another assignment was to paint a leaf portrait. That was hard as well. I took a rather large one. Not a smart move, it took ages to finish. But I like the result – especially if you don’t know what the original looked like, haha.) Well, see for yourself.

I love your leaf! So sorry to hear about the sudden passing of your friend. It must have been such a shock for you. Blessings to you.🍂
