My drawing and painting life

On process and progress

I was just working on getting to know the birds, the shape and the feel of them, I made many drawings earlier this week. I will not show them all. I found I like one particular bird, mainly because of it’s stance, how one of the legs is showing, while of the other leg I can only see the foot.

I went from a sketch, getting to know it for the first time, looking at the contourlines and the marks on the feathers….

… to trying to catch the overall lines of the bird in a oneliner drawing….

That was a lot of fun.

Today I translated that feel into different media, drawing in colored pencil on black paper.
